Use your words wisely!

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never break me.”
Once a word is spoken, it can never be taken back. Words carry a tremendous weight that can echo across a lifetime. The person who said “Time heals all wounds,” was obviously only referring to the sticks and stones.
Now our online words have an even longer, valuable lifespan. Your words are content. And content lives forever. The tech giants buy and sell it every day. Here’s how to responsibly wield the power of your words.
The Weight Of Words
Words have great power. So they must be used with great responsibility. They can build up or tear down. Motivate or discourage.
The one greatest tip for success with your words? Think before you speak.
It’s repeated to the point of being a cliché, but really sit with the meaning and implications of that phrase to imagine it anew.
Easier said than done. Too often the heat of the moment unleashes a furious fire on your tongue that incinerates the room. Thinking before you speak requires emotional intelligence and self-control.
What's One Word You Embody?
“For more than a decade, technology has brought words into our lives more than ever before. No longer are words just what we hear, write or read – they have become what we create and how we interact with the world around us.”
The always-on culture created by the pervasiveness of technology ensures everyone is always on display. Whether we admit to it or not, we are all a brand. If you were to be described in one word, what would that be? Cool, kind, ambitious, happy, serious.
Who do you want to be? The choice is yours. You have the words. Now use them.
Use Your Own Words To Demonstrate Your Worth
Of course, we won’t leave you hanging and throw you to the wolves.
As a content creator, you can demonstrate your unique value by writing in your own words. It may be advice you remember your high school teacher repeating to avoid plagiarism and get that elusive A+.
But it still holds true in our digital world (or life is a perpetual high school, if you want to see it that way).
But why write in your own words when all the words are infinitely available to you online? For one, writing in your own words infuses an old idea with new meaning.
The creative process is a journey. The very act of creation unearths new ideas and connections. If everyone ceased creating, nothing new would be discovered.
Using your own words also demonstrates integrity because you are displaying originality. This builds your authority, credibility, and trust as an expert in your field.
And even if your creative process brings you to use emojis… go for it!
