We live in the age of peak content. There is way more content out there than we can ever consume. Even then, internet users still demand more content. This may be driven by consumer need for new and novel content every time they go online.

So what is an already busy content creator to do? The answer is Content Syndication – a simple method of sharing your content on other platforms. Sure, it may sound a like a dry, technical term but there are a million and one benefits to syndicating your Content. Today, we’re just going to cover a few.

What Is Content Syndication

Content syndication takes several forms but at its core, content syndication is just sharing your content on other platforms. Syndication is a two-way street, and it’s also very normal to republish existing content on your own blog.

So your Content can be published on other blogs. And you can share other Blog’s content on your blog. While you do have to take certain precautions with re-publishing other’s content on your blog for obvious copyright reasons, having your content republished on other blogs has huge benefits. Some of those benefits being increased traffic to your site, a happy SEO, and higher authority and credibility as a result.

When And Where To Syndicate

Sounds like a great idea. So where do you start? A great first go-to is your Social Media platforms. You may be like most Content Creators or business owners who promote themselves on more than one place. For example, you can usually hear your favorite Vloggers mention following them on their other channels like their Instagram or Twitter page.

Another opportunity for content syndication are RSS feeds. It even says it in their name. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. RSS feeds are a chronological feed of your favorite blogs’ newest posts. Instead of checking your favorite sites over and over again throughout the day, your RSS feed will simply notify you when there is a new post.

You can even subscribe to the RSS feed of multiple blogs and be notified all at once. Essentially, as a site owner, providing an RSS feed can make it easier and quicker for your audience to keep up with your content. This is especially important in a Mobile World, where everyone is on the go.
