Live, Work, Play In The Digital World.
Putting the Z back in CustomiZation, even though it never left. Work with us, we were brainstorming our little heads off for a “Z” word to spell out your weekly C.U.S.T.O.M.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N.S. theme. Today we’re previewing a few snapshots of your digital eLife and the state of digital lifestyles.
Live
Also known as your Digital Life, your eLife is your virtual doppelganger. Basically, whenever you go online you are leaving behind a trail of your information, data, and content. Your online activities create a digital footprint. And the more digital footprints you leave behind, the more fully formed your online identity is. Think about your closest friends. You can say you know each other well when you know the likes, dislikes, wants, motivation, and fears of the other person. The same goes for your relationship with the online world. You sure spend a lot of time on it and, from all your saved browsing history, the online world can know you better than your closest friends.
Work
What? You think an eLife would not involve some eWork? Or at least some eVolunteering. The eCommerce realm comes free with your complimentary eWork life. While it may sound foreign, the eCommerce realm is a place we are all already familiar with because who doesn’t love to online shop? The rough-and-tumble eCommerce bunch are the Amazon merchants, eBay auctioneers, and Etsy doodad creators of the online wild west.
And remember all that valuable online content you create whenever you do anything on the internet? That has a real, marketable value too. Some content creators are already privy to this fact and are full-fledged live streaming gamers, fashionable influencers, and motivational online coaches. These individuals increase their social currency by regularly releasing credible content to amass a trusting, loyal audience. They then rent the value of their social currency for paid sponsorships and ad space on their blogs/ vlogs.
These content creators are living the Content Lifestyle – living the life of your dreams thanks to receiving the value of your online content and digital trends.
Play
Everyone’s favorite. Rest. Relaxation. Fun. Play. The internet is an endless source of feel-good distraction. A few forms of this revelry manifests as eZines and eSports… Take SwomiBUZZ for instance, we are an eZine – an online magazine-type publication. Other examples? Foundr is an eZine which focuses on living successfully as an entrepreneur. And Wired, now mostly known as an eZine, was once an in-print publication.
Online gaming is another huge aspect to the Digital lifestyle. And it certainly is here to stay. Online gaming encompasses “social gaming, mobile gaming, as well as free-to-play and pay-to-play massively multiplayer gaming, otherwise known as MMO gaming. Combined generated revenue of over 150 billion U.S. dollars in 2019."
Word Up: Content Lifestyle
Live, work, play. The eLife or Digital Lifestyle offers a different, augmented facet to our everyday lives. The digital lifestyle is here to stay. We choose to understand the digital lifestyle, how it can best help us, and how we may benefit from what it has to offer.
