While the types of content and amount of content in our digital world are endless, we counted 9 practical uses for your online content. Let’s count the ways…
1. Repurpose Content
Do you have a blog post or other piece of content that did amazingly well with your audience? Leverage it! Take that blog post and turn it into seven different videos. Take those seven videos and cut them up into 15 second shorts for social media. Don’t be shy about getting multiple uses from your best performing content.
2. Create Content
The most simple thing you can do with your content is create it! What does that look like? A blog post, video, How-To’s, eBooks, interviews, memes, infographs, and more. Really the types of content you can create are unlimited.
3. Distribute Your Content
Distributing, or syndicating (if you want to be fancy), on platforms other than your blog will drive more traffic to your content. Catch your audience on platforms they already frequent (like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus). If they like what they see, they will naturally be compelled to check out your website.
4. Promote Your Content
In addition to distributing your content, promoting your content can also take several forms you may not have expected. This includes online networking with customers, other businesses, and other bloggers in your industry. You can also send email broadcasts to your email subscribers whenever you post new content.
5. Personalize Your Content
What’s better than cool content? Cool content that is specifically tailored to each unique visitor. Personalization is taking over the content marketing game and for good reason. 6. Use Content That Isn’t Yours (In A Legit Way)
It happens to all of us, we stumble upon a piece of content that’s so good, it hurts. Before you go sharing that, reach out to the creator and obtain written permission and always engage in fair use. If you can’t do that, simply draw inspiration from their content to create your own version.
7. Sponsor Your Content
When you start to gain a following, you can begin to sponsor your content. Sponsors will advertise with bloggers, influencers, and vloggers as a way to reach that content creator’s audience. Usually a sponsor will reach out to you. But if you want to take the initiative, you can openly state on your blog that you are open to working with sponsors.
8. Sell Your Content
Selling your content involves creating high-value content that people want to buy. You can start by testing your ideas first or create short versions of your product idea (prototypes). Some examples would be eBooks, monthly coaching, access to a membership forum.
9. Improve Your Content With Data
The creation of most content today is based off of data. What does that mean in plain english? If the data shows a lot of people like, share, and engage with a certain piece of content, then more of that type of content will be created!
