But did you know you could be earning the value of your own data? Right now, tech giants exploit your data by taking it without your consent. They then harvest the value of your personal information and content.
But, how can data be converted into a real dollar value? To most, it seems like a fantasy-like transaction.
First, we need to understand the difference between Data and Content. Content is the online stuff you interact with like pictures, images, or videos. Data, for example, would be the shares, likes, or comments attached to that Content.
Let’s say you post two identical pieces of Content. One is a picture of your dog at the park. Another is a picture of your dog in his shark Halloween costume. Your dog-shark picture gains way more activity – 10 shares, 50 comments, and 180 likes. On the other hand, your pooch at the park sits alone (chirping crickets).
So which piece of Content is more valuable? You guessed it – shark puppy. That’s because your shark puppy Content has more data (activity) supporting it.
