Improve Your Email Campaigns And Connect With Your Readers

Methods to improve your email campaigns you may have overlooked.

This article is letter (I) of our “Email Marketing" series where we write an article for each letter of the phrase. “Email Marketing" covers all the in's and out's of email marketing success. Find links to more articles in the series below.

When we say Improve your emails, we mean sending out emails that has high-value for your customers, increases user actions, and builds trust. Have your email subscribers engaging like that and you’re bound to connect better with your email subscribers.

Create Urgency

Countdown timers. A fun, visual, and easy to understand way to remind your readers about the fleeting, ephemeral nature of time (or that your Christmas offer expires soon).

Keep it real-(time). If you provide real-time info to your subscribers, providing current up to date infographs and charts will help your readers be informed every time they open your email.

Encourage Email Forwards And Shares

Use a “Forward To A Friend CTA” instead. Instead of that slightly intimidating “BUY NOW” button, opt for a friendlier “Share with a friend” button.

Extend the offer to a recipients network. A really cool way to get your word of mouth marketing rolling. You can provide a link along the lines of “Know someone who would love this deal too? The promo code is valid on two separate orders: Forward this email to a lucky friend!”

Use custom social media links. Providing customized social media links in each email makes it seamless for your readers to naturally share your marketing campaign.

What NOT To Do

Send too many emails. More specifically, sending too many non-relevant, low value emails.

Use clickBait/ spam language. This will land you straight into Gmail’s promotional tab or the spam folder. Avoid phrases like free, winner, low risk, or urgent.

Ignoring The Customer’s Needs. Losing your email subscribers trust is not worth a few more opened emails.

Word Up:

With anything you do in email marketing, the point is to make the customer feel special and valued. Do everything with that in mind and you are bound to connect with the people in your email list.
