The last time a customer service agent helped you, it sure helped ease the tensions when they knew how to balance serious and light conversation. Soon, your customer service agent will be a chatbot.

With that in mind, will a personable customer experience only be a rumor from bygone days?

Should A Chatbot Be Funny?

The jury is still out on this one.

Then again, you (and majority of us) probably feel way more comfortable knowing when talking to a human and chatting with a bot.

Moving Forward: Put The Fun In Functional

Fun follows function.

In other words, a chatbot’s humor shouldn’t get in the way of its usefulness.

Customer convenience first! And if what the customer just so happens to want is a funny chat companion, then so be it.

Word Up:

As we see it now, chatbots have been able to remain upbeat by cheekily referring to itself as a robot. Chatbots, like us, need to learn language over time to become better at it. That includes balancing serious business with lighthearted connection.
