It’s a fun, delightful surprise to see your name on a Coke bottle. Expect to see a lot more things with your name on it in the future. And that’s just the beginning. B2C personalization is now part of the future and an important part of retention and increasing profits.
Digital Assistants Will Be A Huge Time Saver
Digital assistants will be personalization’s best friend. Digital assistants will learn our habits, likes, and preferences to scour the world wide web and bring us what we like. In turn, that will make digital assistants our best friend. Plus, digital assistants are learning conversational-style language. There are many factors that are influencing the new voice assistants including AI.
So you can just talk to your assistant normally, and bam! You have several different suggestions for specialty hand-made ice cream all within a 10-mile radius.
Even if you don’t have a fancy Amazon Echo or Google Assistant, you can catch a glimpse of personalization if you use Netflix. Netflix is able to personalize recommended moves and shows through their specialized algorithms.
With more content, we see it as a trend that online privacy is on the up-rise. Just this year, we’ve seen the entire European Union pass the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). California also passed the California Consumer Privacy Act this year as well.
Now many of the hidden truths are being unmasked for consumers and their content and data. We may see a time where people are masters of their own online content. Where content privacy has a purpose, to protect the value that is created every day by all of us.
